Interested in Cultural Exchange?

Want to make a difference in the life of a young person?
Become a Host Family or Local Coordinator with American Councils!

ENRICH YOUR LIFE:
Opening your home to a State Department scholarship student is an opportunity to transform the world! Individuals and families of all kinds throughout the U.S. have something to share.

SHARE YOUR GIFTS:
As a Local Coordinator with American Councils, you have the opportunity to share your talents with your community and engage others through cultural exchange. If you enjoy teenagers, learning about other languages and cultures, and being active in your community, this can be a wonderfully rewarding way to be involved in shaping the lives of young people and how they perceive their role in the world.

State Department Scholarship Programs Administered by American Councils:
Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program
Youth Exchange & Study (YES) Program
American Serbia & Montenegro Youth Leadership Exchange (A-SMYLE) Program

Student and Alumni Activity:
You can find out some of what last year's students (2008-2009) did while in their host communities in our May 2009 Newsletter.  To learn about how the alumni of these State Department scholarship programs are getting engaged in their communities in their home countries, check out the most recent edition of the Bradley Herald (FLEX)!
